The Procurement Technical Assistance Center Program (PTAC) was established in 1985 and helps Florida businesses interested in obtaining contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and state/local government agencies and participating prime contractors by providing information and training.
Lisa D. Haggerty is our PTAC specialist. Lisa most recently worked as a project administrator and business development specialist with MacDonald-Bedford LLC, a service-disabled-veteran-certified company providing architectural, engineering and construction consultation services. There she was responsible for identifying government contracting opportunities; marketing to area procurement professionals at conferences, trade shows and in person; proposal and presentation preparation; and contract review and administration. The objectives of this workshop are to learn how the government buys goods and services; how to become certified and registered on the federal, state and local levels and finding government contracting prime and subcontracting opportunities. Learn the guidelines and critical steps for writing convincing, successful contract proposals and bids. Workshop topics include obtaining the solicitation package, bid or no bid decision making, preliminary preparation for bidding, qualifications and evaluation criteria, proposal elements, the source selection process and common proposal problems.

Learn about GSA contracting and how this purchasing method is used by government to buy products and services. Topics include GSA’s objectives in awarding schedule contracts, the pros and cons of pursuing a GSA schedule contract, why federal buyers do and do not utilize GSA schedule contracting, things to do prior to taking the GSA schedules plunge and an overview of the how-tos of submitting a GSA schedule proposal.
8(a) EssentialsMarch 25

How do you successfully apply for admission to the federal 8(a) program? What strategies should your firm consider to maximize its potential to benefit from 8(a) contracting? This workshop examines the 8(a) application process, what SBA is looking for from an 8(a) participant, 8(a) joint venturing and marketing the 8(a) firm.
