How CDs and USB Drives Have Developed
There was little doubt when CDs came into use that they were more efficient and useful than the former floppy discs. The CDs could hold more information and data on the discs lasted much longer. While not ideal for all uses, the CDs became the standard of the industry for many years.
Becoming more popular, these UBS drives have some advantages and disadvantages when compared to a CD drive. More and more businesses are taking advantage of the USB drive. New desktop and laptop computers often come with a USB drive as part of the new system.
When distributing materials to customers or clients, which is better, the CD or the USB drive? This really depends on the goals for the business.
Advantages of CDs
CDs are pretty familiar to most people, even if they do not use computer that much. They have seen them through school, video game players and music players. The material that forms the CD is not easily broken if dropped. Its circular shape, which is several inches around, easily fits into a binder storage pocket or case. Careful handling of the disc when used and stored in its container will allow the CD to last for years. However, if the data is damaged, the CD can become useless.
