SEO and its mechanism

Search engine optimization or the abbreviated term SEO refers to a process whereby the result obtained from a search engine are enhanced in terms of volume of the key word searched for or the traffic to a website with the aid of computer algorithm or guideline exploitation. The aim of SEO is that the desired web page shall be listed highest in the list of searched websites when a particular survey is conducted with help of search engines. National Association of Business Economists Outlook: Recession Is Over, but a Muted Recovery to Follow

The Great Recession is over, according to NABE’s latest survey. The survey found that the vast majority of business economists believe that the recession has ended but that the economic recovery is likely to be more moderate than those typically experienced following steep declines. Here is a summary of the report. Some of the findings include:
  • Sales of light vehicles are expected to remain weak, with projected sales of 12 million next year.
  • The housing recovery will gather momentum, with housing starts up 38 percent and residential investment up 8 percent.
  • Business investment will contribute to the economic rebound.
  • The dollar will soften further this year and remain weak into the new year.

Get Your Prospects To Trust You

We all know that people usually buy from traders they are already familiar with — people they know and like. The same thing applies in email list building – your prospects need to know and like you before they try your product or service. Needless to say, trust is a very important factor to get your prospects to agree to sign up to become a part of your email list.

Take a moment to look at your list building strategy and ask yourself these questions: does it help establish the trust necessary to convince prospects to sign up and buy from you? What online or off-line marketing strategies are you using in order to attract and convert prospects to loyal clients? Thus, an effective strategic planning and management must be observe.

If your goal is to collect as many opt-in email addresses as you can, it is crucial that you first establish credibility and build trust. You cannot expect your prospects to easily convert into paying clients if you don’t make an effort to get to know them.

Jennifer Lopez Halts Sweetface Production

After six years, Jennifer Lopez’s contemporary sportswear brand, Sweetface, has been pulled from the racks — for now. “In light of some new company strategies, we have decided to put the Sweetface line on hiatus while we prepare to reintroduce the brand in the near future with new messaging points and an entirely new fashion point of view,” a spokesperson said.

Sweetface originally launched as an urban streetwear spinoff to JLO by Jennifer Lopez and quickly became a higher-end contemporary line carried at Shopbop.com, Intermix, and the like. It was said to be raking in about $200 million at retail in 2006, but things went downhill. For now, the only Jennifer Lopez lines remaining in the US will be JLO by Jennifer Lopez costume jewelry and her footwear sold at Victoria’s Secret.

Florida Small Businesses Not Getting the Contracts They Deserve?

U.S. contracts in Florida were not going to small businesses as originally believed. There has been legislation in place for some time that expressed a small business preference that lets small businesses have about 23% of the procurement pie versus mega corporations.

According to a Miami Herald article, Dell Computer, General Electric and Boeing, along with a dozen other billion-dollar companies — “soaked up at least $76 million in federal contracts that were recorded as going to small businesses during fiscal year 2008, according to government data.”

You may also want to check another Herald article that highlights how with 323,000 employees and earnings of $17 billion, General Electric is by far the biggest “small business” in Florida. Here is the article.

SBDC Announces Award Winners

In September, Florida SBDC Network (FSBDCN) employees gathered to recognize staff, volunteers and resource partners for performance excellence in support of entrepreneurs growing small businesses in Florida. Performance Excellence Awards were presented at the during the Annual FSBDCN statewide meeting in Orlando, Florida, by FSBDCN State Director Jerry Cartwright and the SBDC Directors.

The following awards were given to SBDC at UNF employees and volunteers.

Regional Resource Partner of the Year is Jacqueline Perry of the Beaver Street Enterprise Center. This award identifies the regional resource partner who has made the biggest contribution to the advancement of entrepreneurialism in the area in partnership with the SBDC.
